The Moog Grandmother Semi-Modular Synth is a rich teaching instrument for music tech, composition and electronic performance. It gives students a proper keyboard interface, but also exposes the building blocks of analogue synthesis in a clear, hands-on way.
It can be played without patching, then extended through its patch points as learners progress into modular routing, sequencing and external gear control.
