Progressive Instrument Pathways give educators a blueprint for more impact, more engagement and more musicians.
By starting children on their musical journey with innovative, accessible beginner instruments, kids can develop fundamental skills in a fun and intuitive way. This makes stepping up to affordable instruments every child can enjoy, such as brass instruments like pBone and pTrumpet.
But it's not all about brass - educators in the UK can purchase a growing range of instruments from some of the biggest brands like Yamaha, Shure, Stentor, Ableton, and more. All instruments can offer a route for students to play, perform, and progress.
Learning with instruments that are light yet robust, easy to maintain and perfectly suited to classrooms means students can graduate to premium student models.
It's all about using the right instrument at the right time.
Whether you are looking to teach the next generation of guitarists, start saxophone students sooner or build a budding band of brass buzzers, pBone Music can help find the right path for learners and educators.

FAQs
How do you select the instruments for each pathway?
We have worked with music hubs in England and leading manufacturers to trial many different solutions for educators. These are not hard and fast rules; we understand that teachers have different methods to get the best from their lessons. But we want to highlight new and innovative solutions, making educators aware of products that can help retain pupils.
Does that mean children can't keep learning a foundation instrument?
Not at all! For some pupils and their educators, building up skills in an instrument like the recorder or the ukulele could be the ideal route for progression. Progressive Instrument Pathways give teachers more options and flexibility for developing children who are learning in a whole-class environment.
Who are progressive instrument pathways for?
We designed our pathways in response to the National Plan for Music Education in England, which has many parallels to plans that are already underway in Wales. Educators in England can purchase all instruments from the pathway through pBone Music.
If you an educator from another part of the world but like what you hear, get in touch. We can provide guidance, expert product advice and discuss your needs to help more learners play and progress.
